David W. Barkett founded Barkett Law in 2002. Mr. Barkett graduated from Stetson University undergraduate program and University of Mississippi School of Law Juris Doctorate progam. Mr. Barkett began his career working with Orlando's oldest law firm and a large full service state wide, multi-office law firm in which he gained valuable skill and training in the areas of civil litigation and real estate transactionanl work.
Since opening Barkett Law, Mr. Barkett has been involved in a large number of real estate transactions serving as either the Buyer or Seller representative or title insurance agent. Mr. Barkett has also provided lender representation to banks and private lenders throughout the State of Florida Mr. Barkett has served as closing agent and Buyer or Seller representative on numerous deals over $5,000,000.00 and has been the title agent and Owner representative for a $16,500,000.00 multi-family commercial refinace transaction He has also represented owners in the proposed sale of their property to numerous national Fortune 500 Companies and to municipalities. He is a licensed title agent for Attorney's Title Insurance Fund and Chicago Title Insurance Company. He currently represents banks, private lenders, developers, mortgage lending institutions, real estate brokerages and Buyers and Sellers of commercial and residential property in a wide range of legal matters.
Mr. Barkett also has experience in the areas of civil litigation, corporate law, probate and estate planning. His current practice focuses on real estate transactional law, civil litigation, corporate law, probate and estate planning.
Mr. Barkett has been residing in the Orlando Winter Park area since 1998 and has taken an active role in his community and local church.
Mickey R.E. Barkett was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000 and has been a practicing trial lawyer ever since. She has experience in general civil litigation, business disputes, real estate litigation, eminent domain, inverse condemnation and Bert Harris Act, land use disputes, escrow disputes, contract disputes, employment law disputes and construction law. Her current practice focuses on real estate litigation, eminent domain and contractual dispute issues.
Mrs. Barkett was accepted as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2005 and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association. Mrs. Barkett also sits on the City of Orlando Municipal Planning Board as Co-Chairman.
Mrs. Barkett attended University of Mississippi School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. While at the University of Mississippi School of Law, she earned a position as a member of the Mississippi Law Journal and received merit-based scholarships.
Mrs. Barkett attended Auburn University and received an undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences.
Prior to Joining Barkett Law, Mrs. Barkett worked for a large state-wide multi-office law firm.
